USING QUICKBOOKS PRO
When you need a good program for tracking deposits and expenses, while running simple financial projections and paying bills, QuickBooks Pro is difficult to beat. Sure, your company could easily spend thousands upon thousands of dollars to have a special program written but in truth, you will find many small and large organizations that have discovered all the benefits of this particular program, which is also affordable.
QuickBooks Pro is also a program used by homemakers for running a smooth household. Overall, the negative aspects of this program are minimal. Instead, what you will discover is that QuickBooks Pro is easy to install and once learned, relatively easy to operate. While you could use this program for simple tasks such as paying the gardener or nanny, along with keeping track of 1099 and W2 forms, QuickBooks Pro is also advanced enough to run a number of financial projections and financial analysis.
Although the majority of people using QuickBooks Pro have nothing but positive things to say, you will find a few concerns that should also be considered. For instance, one of the most annoying aspects is that we now see the newer version designed with traps, meaning you can begin a specific process or even complete a portion of it but then to finish the task, you would be required to purchase an add-on service or application.
Another drawback to QuickBooks Pro has to do with emailing reports and forms. What happens is that when you click on the option for emailing a report, a browser will open, which then takes you to an Intuit site, requiring that you login. A better solution would be allowing you to email the report directly from within the report.
With Access, you can run a two-person home or a multi-million dollar corporation. If you were in the real estate business for example, you could use QuickBooks Pro to enter property information, potential buyers' information, expenses paid for advertising, updates, document filing, showing information, scheduled closings, and much more. The thing to remember with this particular program is that there is significant setup time. For instance, to help the program help you, the first time you begin to use it means entering a lot of information.
However, once the information is in the system, everything else is much easier. This program is powerful, highly functional, efficient, and affordable. While there are a few negative aspects, these are again not really worth worrying about. In addition, the retaining aspect of QuickBooks Pro is much greater than some other off-the-shelf programs. For instance, you can continuing storing data in QuickBooks Pro or download it to your computer's hard drive or CDs. However, if you were to look at Peachtree, a similar program, you would find you have a two-year limitation on data storage.
